It's worth noting that this is not the first time Susan Collins has taken liberties with numbers in an effort to deceive voters.
Remember when her campaign tried to portray a potential small reduction in our Iraq spending as tantamount to repealing the costs of the war?
Or when she called for a repealing farm subsidies--a tiny slice of the federal budget--as a way to close what is now a $10 trillion national debt?
Collins has demonstrated that she's perfectly happy to make things up. And it's not hard to understand why: No one in the Maine press calls her on it.
Until that happens, no doubt she'll keep right on doing it.
