Senators take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. Senator Collins is saying the Constitution doesn't matter. And that's just wrong.And:
What Collins is suggesting is that our Constitution should be simply thrown away--that there should be no rule of law, no due process.Because of this, Bellows said, "Senator Collins' suggestions...are very dangerous to American security." They would, "make permanent some of the abuses of power that occurred during the Bush administration," which have been, "a huge rallying cry for our enemies."
